Johnson County Pheasants Forever Youth and Women’s Hunt and Family Fun Day
Effective 12:00PM, September 18, 2020 We are no longer accepting applications for the Youth and Women’s Hunt.
Hosted at Eckman’s Hunting Preserve, the day will consist of a wide array of free activities such as:
Target Shooting
Shooting Instruction (John Francis)
Guided Pheasant Hunts
Archery Range
Pellet Gun Shooting
Lunch and Snacks
Raffles and Prizes
All hunters must reserve a hunting time in advance. Youth hunters must be between 11 and 16 years old, have an adult sponsor, and a valid hunter safety certificate. The women’s hunt is open to novice hunters who must have a valid hunting license or be accompanied by a licensed mentor.
Women’s Hunt activities will be offered to women with limited hunting experience. Youth Hunt activities will be held for youth hunters between 11 and 16 years old. Each youth is required to have an adult sponsor and hunter safety. For more information on hunter safety in Kansas, visit Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism’s website here.
For each hunter, the day starts with a hunter safety refresher, warm-up clays, and then an hour-long pheasant hunt. After the hunt, attendees will have time to chat with other hunters, shoot additional clays, and enjoy other activities ranging from archery to pellet guns. Lunch will be provided and prizes will be raffled to the youth hunters present during lunch. To continue our hunting heritage, all youth participants will be eligible for a shotgun raffle that will take place during lunch at the event.
The hunt is sponsored by Johnson County Pheasants & Quail Forever at no cost to hunters. For attending, all youth will receive a membership to Pheasants Forever Ringnecks magazine.
