Youth/Women’s Hunt & Family Fun Day Hunter/Shooter Checklist

  1. Go to our website for all of the information
  2. Complete your waiver. It’s located here
  3. Email your completed waiver to Jim Milazzo
  4. Complete and submit your online application here
  5. The event takes place on Saturday, October 6 at Eckman’s Shooting Preserve in Baldwin City, KS
  6. Bring your hunter safety certificate the day of the event
  7. Wear a hunter/blaze orange vest and hat
  8. Bring your shotgun (unless you need to borrow one from us). Either way we’ll provide ammunition
  9. Dress for the weather and wear hunting boots if you have them
  10. Bring along eye and ear protection
  11. We’ll confirm your hunt time prior a few days prior to the event. You must show up at least 60 minutes prior to your scheduled hunt time for a required safety briefing and to shoot some warm up clay pigeons
  12. Youth hunters need to be accompanied by a mentor/parent/guardian
  13. Join us for the entire day! We’ll serve donuts starting at 7:30, a variety of activities will take place throughout the day, and we’ll serve lunch and have drawings/raffles over the lunch hour. You’ve got to be present to win, and all events are free, compliments of Pheasants Forever and our sponsors.

Calling All Dog Lovers

To All Field Trial Competitors, All Hunters, All Outdoor Enthusiasts and anybody that want some Family Fun:

Pheasants Forever, Quail Forever and Bird Hunters United are sponsoring our 3rd Annual Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever National Bird Dog Classic for Habitat on October 12-13, 2013 in Mapleton, KS at Timber Hills Lake Ranch. This is our annual fund raising endeavor to raise the much needed money for Missouri and Kansas local wildlife habitat improvement programs and supporting our BHU Youth Events.

We would love to have you and your buddies participate in our PF Bird Dog Classic; just bring your great bird dogs, your shot gun and some shells and have a lot of fun. All the information about our Dog Trial is in our website Please go to the site and find out how much fun you can have this October.

You can sign up online; it is quick and easy to sign up your dog(s). This event is for the novice, the amateur, the experienced field trial guy/gal too. We have some other components for the entire family to enjoy. Wobble Trap competition, Retrieving on land and water, Family Fun Day with 16 free Fun Field Trials for the inexperienced and youth to try out your new bird dog.

PF/QF National Bird Dog Classic for Habitat

On October 13, 2012 at the Timber Hills Lake Ranch near Mapleton, KS there will be an event taking place that will be of interest to bird dog owners, bird hunters, and those interested in supporting the mission of Pheasants and Quail Forever.
