Seeking Volunteers

With our annual youth and women’s hunt scheduled for Saturday, October 1, 2011 and our annual banquet on the calendar for March 1, 2012, we find ourselves at a point in which we could use some help both in the planning and the execution of these and other events. If you’d like to volunteer your time, resources or ideas we’d sure love to talk with you. We hold our monthly meeting the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at Uncle Buck’s restaurant at the Olathe Bass Pro Shops. You can either join us and share your ideas, or you can contact our president, Heath Hayden at 913-209-2609 or by emailing him at

Johnson County PF in the News

Kansas City Sports and Fitness Magazine recently ran a short article about the Johnson County Pheasants Forever Youth and Women’s Hunt & Family Fun Day. Here’s a bit of information from that article….

“In a related event, the Johnson County chapter of Pheasants Forever will be sponsoring a Youth Hunt and Family Fun Day on October 2 at Eckman’s Hunting Preserve in Baldwin City.

“At our chapter we’ve really focused on youth and youth activities,” Powder Creek board member at Pheasants Forever supporter Jerry Mortick said. “They are our most important project. Kids today will really dictate what happens to habitats as landowners or as voters. We feel a strong responsibility here in an urban market to focus activities on youth and one of our initiatives is ‘No Child Left Indoors.’ We feel that kids need to get away from the games and the Wii and the electronic games, and see what goes on in the real world.”
